My Mother-in-Law Buys These Tablets Even Without a Dishwasher

Dishwasher tablets are usually associated with one simple household task: cleaning and removing food residue from dishes. They are convenient, compact, and designed to help break down grease, stains, and stubborn residue during a washing cycle.

But dishwasher tablets can have another use that many people do not immediately consider. They can also be useful for certain household cleaning jobs.

My mother-in-law discovered this long ago. Even though she does not have a dishwasher, she still buys dishwasher tablets because she uses them for cleaning different areas around the house. When I saw the results for myself, I understood why she kept a pack on hand.

If you are accustomed to cleaning with household staples such as white vinegar, baking soda, or lemon, dishwasher tablets may seem like an unusual alternative. Yet their cleaning properties can make them useful when you are dealing with stubborn grease, residue, or limescale.

The important thing is to use them carefully and only on surfaces that are suitable for the cleaning solution. Dishwasher tablets are concentrated cleaning products, so they should not automatically be treated as a universal cleaner for every material in the home.
