Banana Cream Pie Dump
👩🍳 Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Prep Your Oven and Pan 📐🔥
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray or a little butter.
Step 2: The Banana Base Layer 🍌 Base
- Slice your 4 ripe bananas into even rounds.
- Arrange the banana slices in a single, crowded layer across the bottom of your prepared baking dish.
Step 3: Whisk the Pudding 🍮🥣
- In a medium bowl, combine both boxes of instant banana cream pudding mix with the 3 cups of cold milk.
- Whisk vigorously for about 1 to 2 minutes until the mixture is smooth and just beginning to thicken up.
- Pour the wet pudding evenly over the banana slices, spreading it out to the edges with a spatula.
Step 4: The “Dump” Cake Topping 🌾🧈
- Open your box of dry yellow cake mix and sprinkle it evenly over the top of the pudding layer. Do not stir it in! Keep it as a dry layer.
- Evenly sprinkle your 1 cup of crushed Nilla Wafers over the dry cake mix to create a built-in “pie crust” crunch.
- Slowly and evenly pour the ¾ cup of melted butter over the entire top surface. Try to cover as much of the dry cake mix and cookie layer as possible so it bakes into a beautiful, golden, buttery cobbler-like crust.
