Step 1: Bake Your Chocolate Foundation 🎂🔥

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, prepare the chocolate cake mix according to the box instructions using the required eggs, oil, and water.
  3. Pour the batter smoothly into your prepared pan and bake for 28 to 32 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Step 2: Poke and Flood! 📐🫗

  1. Let the cake cool for just 5 minutes after removing it from the oven—you want it to still be quite warm!
  2. Take the handle of a wooden spoon or a large straw and poke holes all across the top of the cake, spacing them about an inch apart.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the 1 can of sweetened condensed milk and half of the jar of caramel sauce.
  4. Slowly pour this rich, milky caramel mixture entirely over the warm cake, making sure it seeps deep down into all the holes you just created.

Step 3: Layer the Fudge and Crunch 🍫🥜

  1. Allow the cake to cool completely to room temperature so the liquid completely absorbs.
  2. Pop the tub of chocolate fudge frosting in the microwave for about 10 to 15 seconds (without the foil lid!) just until it’s slightly softened and easy to spread.

  4. Immediately sprinkle your 1 cup of chopped pecans and ½ cup of mini chocolate chips evenly over the wet frosting so they stick.
