I FAKED A TRIP TO CANADA, SUSPECTING THE HOUSEKEEPER WAS HURTING MY DAUGHTERS

You didn’t want to marry me, Chloe. You wanted my life, and my children were in the way, and you had a plan to remove the one adult who’d notice what you were doing to them.

You almost got away with it. I almost married you. I was three months and one fake business trip away from giving you legal power over my little girls.

The wedding is off. You’re out of this house tonight. My attorney has the footage, and whether it becomes a criminal matter depends entirely on whether you ever come near my daughters or Marisol again.

Get out. And understand how close you came, and how completely you failed, because a housekeeper you called ‘nobody’ loved my children enough to stand in front of them, and I finally loved them enough to look.”

PART 4

Chloe left that night. She tried, at the door, the things people like Chloe try — that I’d misunderstood, that the girls were difficult, that Marisol had manipulated the situation, that I’d regret humiliating her. I didn’t engage. There was nothing to engage. I’d watched forty-five minutes of the truth, and no words she could say would edit the footage.

She’s gone from our lives. The threat of the documented evidence keeps her away — she knows exactly what I have, and she knows what it would cost her if she ever surfaced. Some people you don’t need to destroy. You just need to make the cost of returning higher than they’re willing to pay, and then you close the door.
