Step 1: Prep and Line 📐✨
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
Step 2: Assemble the Sandwiches 🏗️🧀
- Arrange 24 Ritz crackers face down (flat side up) in a single layer on your prepared baking sheet.
- Cut your cheese slices into quarters so they form smaller squares. Place a square of cheese on each cracker.
- Tear your deli ham into small, cracker-sized pieces and fold them neatly over the cheese.
- Top the ham with another small piece of cheese (this acts as the “glue” to hold both sides together!).
- Place another Ritz cracker on top, right side up, to close the mini sandwiches.
Step 3: Whisk the Glaze 🥣🔥
- In a small bowl, combine the 4 tbsp of melted butter, 1 tbsp of mustard, 1 tsp of Worcestershire sauce, 1 tbsp of brown sugar, 1 tbsp of poppy seeds, and ½ tsp of onion powder.
- Whisk the mixture vigorously until the brown sugar is mostly dissolved and the poppy seeds are well distributed.
Step 4: Glaze and Bake ⏰🎨
- Using a pastry brush or a spoon, generously coat the top of each cracker sandwich with the butter mixture. Make sure a good amount of poppy seeds land on top of each one, exactly like the presentation in .
- Pop the baking sheet into the oven and bake for 10 to 12 minutes. You’ll know they are ready when the cheese is completely melted and bubbling out the sides and the crackers turn a deeper golden brown.
