A planned Washington, D.C., public forum on violent crime has been canceled for a second time, putting renewed attention on U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro at a moment when she is already facing an unusually public disagreement with President Donald Trump.
The event, titled “Violent Crime in DC: What’s Worked and What’s Next,” was expected to bring together Pirro and interim Metropolitan Police Chief Jeffery Carroll for a discussion with residents about public safety and crime in the nation’s capital.
Instead, the event was called off again.
The cancellation immediately attracted attention because it came during a growing dispute between Pirro and Trump over the handling of a federal case involving alleged damage to the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.

The organization responsible for the forum, the D.C. Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, did not publicly provide a specific explanation for the latest cancellation.
