Spicy Asian Ramen Noodles

🧅 The Toppings (Inspired by )

  • 2 green onions (scallions), thinly sliced on a bias 🟢
  • 2 tbsp roasted peanuts, coarsely chopped (for that amazing texture!) 🥜
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds (optional) ⚪

👩‍🍳 Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Whisk the Sauce Base 🥣

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, Sriracha, dark brown sugar, sesame oil, and 2 tablespoons of warm water until the sugar is fully dissolved. Set it aside.

Step 2: Cook the Ramen 🍜

  1. Bring a pot of water to a rolling boil. Add the two blocks of instant ramen noodles.
  2. Cook for exactly 2 to 3 minutes until they are just tender but still have a bit of chew (al dente). Do not overcook them, as they will cook a bit more in the sauce!
  3. Drain the noodles and set them aside.

Step 3: Sauté the Aromatics 🧄

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat.
  2. Add the finely minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for just 30 to 45 seconds until your kitchen smells absolutely incredible. Be careful not to let the garlic brown or burn!

Step 4: Gloss and Toss 🌊

  1. Pour your prepared spicy sauce mixture directly into the skillet with the garlic and ginger. Let it bubble gently for about 1 minute until it starts to thicken slightly.
  2. Toss the drained ramen noodles right into the pan. Using tongs or chopsticks, stir vigorously for 1-2 minutes until the noodles are fully coated and have soaked up that gorgeous red glaze. (If it looks too thick, splash in an extra tablespoon of water).
