The Cat Woke Her Owner Every Night and Forced Her Out of the Bedroom: The Woman Thought the Cat Had Mental Issues Until She Took Her to the Vet

“I don’t think Luna is waking you up because she’s being difficult,” I said. “It’s possible she’s reacting to what’s happening to you while you sleep. Animals can sense changes in breathing or when a heartbeat becomes unusual. To her, that may be a warning signal.”

Anna stared at me as though I had said something unbelievable.

“Are you saying she’s saving me?”

“I can’t prove it,” I replied. “But I’m certain the problem isn’t the cat. You need medical tests. Blood work, blood sugar levels, a heart examination, and possibly a sleep study. Start there.”

She was silent for a long time, then nodded.

A week later, Anna called again. The dull exhaustion was gone from her voice.
